FujianProvince is situated by the sea with mountain areas at the back, making it a great place for travel.  It is one of the provinces with the most rapid economic development in China, ranking among the top three provinces with the highest average GDP growth inrecent years.  We decided to build our first children home in Fujian because we saw the need of extremely poor children behind this flourishing economy.

In 2004, Director Yang, Fujian People's Congress deputy, offered help on the establishment of the children home, which was built on the site of a welfare institute of the Civil Affairs Bureau of Sanming City.  In October 2004, it was confirmed that the project would be commenced in March the following year.  The entire preparatory process was blessed by God's keeping and supply.  Although there was an unprecedented heavy rain in Sanming during the construction period, the children home was completed in 8 months and was put into operation in August 2005, becoming the first children home in China which was built and operated with foreign funds.
